Dr. Tricia Thompson

Root Cause Medicine & Whole Hearted Healing

Tricia brings 25 + years of experience to your wellness journey.   Practicing acute care in the Emergency Department since 2003 has brought a depth of knowledge and skill for rapid diagnoses and treatment of illness and trauma.

Her transition to Wholistic Medicine started with a dramatic increase in the volume of patients presenting to the ED for non-acute conditions associated with chronic illness has been staggering. These patients are hurting, frustrated and not getting better with the traditional treatments prescribed to them.   Dr. Thompson knew instinctively there was a better way with minimal focus on pharmaceuticals and surgical interventions.   She sought training the the best in the field of Integrative Medicine and did a 2 year fellowship with Dr. Andrew Weil at University of Arizona.   Concurrently, she pursued training in Functional Medicine to gain expertise in diagnostic evaluations at the core of Systems Medicine.

Now, with years of experience with Root Cause Medicine she is driven to bring this philosophy to all patients: simple and complex.   The principles of Integrative and Functional Medicine can change your life and your health.

Tricia completed her Bachelor of Science in Business from Smith School @ University of Maryland, College Park and proceeded to post-bachelors study at University of MD, Baltimore county.   She received her doctorate from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1999. St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York became her home for 4 years where she completed Emergency Medicine Internship as Chief Intern and 3 years of Emergency Medicine Residency.   Dr. Thompson has served on the Maryland Board of Physicians, is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and is Board Certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine and is board eligible in the specialty of Integrative Medicine with ABMS.   Dr. Thompson completed a two year Fellowship in Integrative Medicine from the University of Arizona in 2018.   She has also completed Extensive Speciality Studies including Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice with The Institute of Functional Medicine.
